He has given me Life Today

What an incredible time we had this weekend. God just blew me away and blessed me beyond measure. He spoke truth into my soul, allowed me to spend time with dear friends, and just dropped new friends right smack dab into my lap. OH I LOVE HIM. Ya know?

I met Keal at the studio at around 3:45 pm on Friday. There were already a couple of other people there in line because, although we already have tickets, seating is on a first-come basis. But here’s the great part.

It was just a little mini Siesta Fiesta right there in line. I got to meet Tiffany/ForHisGlory, who I met through the Siesta Fiesta Blog. We have had several email communications concerning Bible Study Fellowship this fall. You should have heard the squealing when we realized who each other was. I had no idea she lived here in the area. It was such an incredible blessing to meet her in person. There were several others there who frequent the LPM Blog and I recognized their names, but I am quite ashamed now to admit… I can’t remember them. SO, if you were there, and if you are reading this… PLEASE comment and remind me of who was there.

I was so blessed to spend some time with some VERY dear girlfriends. The Lord has truly blessed me!

And, you know, we had us some fun. One of my girlfriends put out a dare. And I just can't pass me up a good dare.

The messages that the Lord brought to us through Beth Moore were so amazing. And so were her outfits. The jeans she wore on Friday night were just PERFECTION! Y’all will just have to watch Wednesdays with Beth to see them.

I got to ask one question during our Saturday morning Q&A session at the taping. ONLY after a discussion of my hair which I will save for the next installment of “I See What You’re Saying” at 2nd Cup of Coffee. In fact, I’ve already made my video telling the story. Just a-waitin’ for the most opportune time to post it.

Gayle said “Ask her (if you get the chance, of course) how many hours she spends working in 1 week. Because I just know it has to be a crazy amount!”

Here’s the answer as I remember it (why didn’t I have me camera recording it???).

She said it was a good and convicting question. At this point, she said that she was just working normal business hours during the week (Monday – Thursday) and traveling every other Friday. Of course she teaches I believe a Tuesday night Bible study and for many years also taught her Sunday school class (which she quit just a year or so ago). She said that she does not take work home in the evenings (which kind of surprised me). She spends her evenings with her man.

She also talked a bit about having done this for 25-30 years and how it has just taken that long for God to get through to her about some things. I tell you what – that right there encourages me. There’s hope for me yet, girls! I just need another 20-25 years.

So what I took from her answer was that she “works” a fairly normal number of hours each week. But I tell you what, as those of you who may be in ministry know, your work is never finished. My guess is that yes her writing and everything she does at her office is done in a “normal” amount of time. But, I think that there are a lot of things that we see as part of her “job” that I’m sure she doesn’t. It’s just part of who she is. Which is why we probably would view her as working a crazy amount. Does that make sense?

So, the Lord gave us this weekend. Dropped it in our laps. For once I believe I took hold of what He gave me and squeezed every bit of what I could out of it. He is so good. May I do that EVERY DAY!

Update - I found who the other two Siestas are. An Heiress of God and jar of clay.

I was there this past weekend also. Friay night was amazing! I am in a storm right now and EXHAUSTION is a good word for how I feel most days.

I recognized you from your picture and Beth's comment about your hair. I have never colored my hair either. :-)

Some of the things Beth sees as not work, most of us would see as a job. Wherever she goes, she is "on." Many come up to her and she has so little privacy. But then she walked into church this Sunday, put her Bible down, and had to go say Hi to all her buddies. She must like that part more than I would! So glad you had an anointed weekend with time with Him and some friends in the Lord. Sounds like a blast. Love, Annette

I am tardy but weighing in on siestas at Life Today! While I didn't spot a single pink or green t-shirt in the bunch I now know you were there! And I did get to witness Donna's quick dash to "the chair!" Precious! It was great teaching and something every single one of us could stand to hear. Be sure and tune in to Beth...maybe via iTunes podcasts while you exercise - a personal favorite with me.
